Today I began my new job in earnest. It’s fun, but I will certainly be working hard this semester. Two jobs, especially where only one is part-time (and that only nominally), is a difficult load to bear.

I am very proud of my wife, who, having only one full-time job, manages to run the household for us while I work all day long.

I’m glad that my second job is rather mindless. When my trainer heard about my educational background, she wondered whether I would tolerate such a mindless job. I assured her I will: I need to both clock out and check out from my second job at the same time, so I can focus my mind on my teaching.

I hope my students don’t suffer from the arrangement.
