We’ve been here in our new home now for nearly a week, and the whole time I’ve seen only one creeping bug.
There are plenty of flying bugs. There are bizarre flying bugs. There are flying bugs that make me want to take up entomology.
But no creeping bugs, really. None that go about on all sixes, except the one I saw earlier today and on a very sunny day at that. In fact, I haven’t seen a spider here yet, either.
I’m not sure why bugs here don’t roam. Is the land too wet? Are we too disconnected from the rest of the continent? Are we too cold or too far north?
I don’t see why there should be so much vegetation but no insects crawling around on the salad. I kind of like it, though.
